Israel Scholarship

As part of university partnerships, state universities can apply to the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts (MWK) for funding for study and research visits to Israel and Baden-Württemberg.

Programme objectives

To commemorate the pogrom of 9 November 1938, the state parliament has provided the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts with scholarship funds since 1988 to promote German-Israeli relations.

Prerequisites

  • Own Israeli citizenship
  • Be enrolled at one of ABK Stuttgart’s partner universities: Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem or Beit Berl College.
  • demonstrate academic and personal achievements. Consideration is also given to social engagement, leadership potential and unique personal, social or economic circumstances.

Application

The exchange coordinator at your home institution must confirm your nomination to the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design by e-mail. Applications from students who are not nominated will not be processed.

  • Portfolio of recent works (around 8-10 pages) in digital format
  • Letter of motivation for ABK
  • Letter of motivation for the scholarship holder (for this, please contact ABK International Office)

  • Passport photo

All documents, artworks, certificates, etc. should be sent in digital format.

Application deadline

Applications must be sent to ABK’s International Office by 31 August of the previous year.

Selection process

Complete applications will be forwarded to the selection committee for evaluation. ABK Stuttgart can reject or accept an applicant according to our admission regulations. Admission is based on the application documents submitted, including the artistic quality of the portfolio submitted by the applicant and also the number of study places available.

You will be notified as soon as a decision regarding your application has been made.

Please note that due to the large number of applications we receive, we are unable to advise on the rejection of an application.
