This series of photographs focuses on the transparency and texture of ice and its altered and distorted appearance due to the fall of light and shadow. Transparencies are illuminated, clouded or obscured depending on the time of day and weather conditions. At the same time, the consistency of the ice changes from day to day. With all these factors the perception of the viewer changes as well. The photographs also reveal how this inherent instability – which causes melting, fractures and gaps, among other things- constantly creates new exciting structures and forms on and also inside an object of ice.
