The landscape of Brussels‘ botanical garden stands as a testament to the profound transformations that have shaped the city’s urban fabric: railways, metro lines, and road tunnels piercing through it. The project aims to repurpose Brussels‘ road tunnel infrastructure and to transform it into a collective resource. The botanical garden is turned into an ecosystem where people can live and produce with the existing infrastructure by framing it in three different ecologies. The proposed conversion makes use of the site’s architectural and logistical potential in order to create a building typology and a series of urban landscapes aligned with this linear infrastructure.
